U.S. Chamber’s Brazil-U.S. Business Council to Welcome President Obama in March

Council to Lead Delegation to Brazil to Promote Trade Opportunities for U.S. Businesses

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Brazil-U.S. Business Council, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the announcement today that President Barack Obama will address the Council on March 19th in Brasília, Brazil.

“It’s an honor to host the President for a speech on the importance of the relationship between the United States and Brazil, especially at a time when we’re all focused on creating jobs and growing the economy,” said the Council’s Executive Director, Steven Bipes. “The President will have the opportunity to highlight the strong bilateral ties between our two countries, as well as the sustained economic growth in Brazil that has created many business opportunities for both Brazilian and U.S. companies.”

In conjunction with the President’s trip to Brazil, the Council will lead a trade delegation to Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo, which will explore business opportunities available to U.S. companies in the energy and infrastructure industries.

“As Brazil works to upgrade its infrastructure ahead of both the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics, countless investment opportunities exist for U.S. businesses,” said Bipes. “The Council’s trade mission will highlight these opportunities in Brazil and help foster a program that will further the economic partnership between our two countries.”

The U.S. Section of the Brazil-U.S. Council represents major U.S. companies invested in Brazil and works collaboratively with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
