U.S. Chamber Announces Partnership with T-Mobile for 2012 Small Business Summit
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced a partnership with T-Mobile in support of the 2012 America’s Small Business Summit, set to take place May 21–23 in Washington, D.C.
“The U.S. Chamber is proud to partner with T-Mobile for this summit to support America’s job creators,” said Tom Collamore, senior vice president of communications and strategy and counselor to the president at the U.S. Chamber. “Small businesses are critical to our nation’s economic recovery, and the Chamber will continue to fight for the pro-growth policies that will help them succeed. We are pleased to have T-Mobile join us in this effort to equip small business owners with tools to help their businesses thrive.”
With as much as 50% of business conducted outside of “the office,” according to a Fonality State-of-the-Market 2011 Report, wireless mobility is increasingly important for the growth and success of U.S. small business. A 2011 AMI study found that nearly 3.5 million U.S. small businesses are currently using smartphones and 700,000 are using tablets, numbers it expects to increase by 40% and 85%, respectively, over the next 12 months.
“Unlike larger enterprises, small businesses have limited time and resources to select, deploy and manage wireless services. However, wireless mobility is critical to doing business today,” said Matt Millen, vice president of small and medium business sales at T-Mobile USA. “Because their decisions regarding wireless plans, devices and technologies can impact the success of their business, we need to make it simple and we need to deliver value beyond network and devices. T-Mobile is committed to making this happen.”
The 2012 America’s Small Business Summit will bring together more than 700 small business owners, managers, and entrepreneurs from across the country to network, learn, and advocate for policies that support small business growth. T-Mobile is a Platinum sponsor. To learn more about America’s Small Business Summit, visit www.uschambersummit.com.
