U.S. Chamber Launches New Voter Education Ad Blitz
Ads Will Promote Leaders Who Fight for Free Enterprise, Hold Accountable Those Who Stand for Big Government
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today launched a multistate television ad and grassroots communications blitz in 17 House Congressional Districts and in four states with 2012 Senate races. The Chamber’s new voter education efforts will highlight leaders who fight for free enterprise and economic growth, and emphasize the contrast of those who stand for big government.
“Our economy is still fragile, and it is vital that our leaders in Congress support free enterprise and the job-creating policies that will lead our recovery,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. “The Chamber is engaging more aggressively than ever to educate the public about the leaders who stand up for free enterprise, and those who support big government policies.”
The Chamber’s ads will educate the public on the candidates’ positions on key business issues. They will also highlight lawmakers’ records as rated in the Chamber’s annual 2011 How They Voted scorecard.
“We’re asking constituents to hold their members of Congress accountable for how they vote on the policies that harm economic growth,” Donohue said.
This advertising launch is the Chamber’s third campaign in the 2012 cycle and is part of the organization’s largest voter education and grassroots mobilization effort in its 100 year history, aimed at highlighting candidates’ positions on issues critical to the American recovery.
