U.S. Chamber and General Motors Partner to Advance Free Enterprise
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today welcomed General Motors as the official vehicle sponsor for its “On the Road with Free Enterprise” tour, a two-month cross-country road trip to tell the story of free enterprise and what it means to the American economy. General Motors will provide a 2013 Chevy Traverse for two “Tour Guides” to use to travel to more than 15 cities across the U.S., visiting with small businesses, participating in local events, and stopping at famous landmarks.
“GM, a great American company and employer, is committed to the same principles we will celebrate with the ‘On the Road with Free Enterprise’ tour,” said Tom Collamore, senior vice president of Communications and Strategy at the Chamber. “We can think of no better vehicle partner for this exploration of American free enterprise and the people and businesses working to create jobs and help grow the economy.”
The Free Enterprise Tour Guides, Nate Hindman and Joe Epstein, will document their experiences “on the road with Free Enterprise” with blog posts, photos, and videos on FreeEnterprise.com.

The “On the Road with Free Enterprise” tour kicks off June 5 with an event at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. In advance of the launch, the Chamber and GM will sponsor a “Tag the Traverse” social media campaign. The tour-branded Chevy Traverse (below) will be placed in various locations in and around Washington beginning June 3, and the Tour Guides will tweet clues on the car’s location using the tour Twitter handle @FreeEnterprise. The public will then be able to find the vehicle around town and enter to win a number of prizes, including tickets to a Nationals game and gift certificates from various local businesses.
