WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors today announced that Thomas J. Donohue has committed to remain CEO through June 2022, continuing his successful 20 year track record of supporting business. Suzanne P. Clark, Senior Executive Vice President, is also being promoted to President, having successfully led the cultural transformation of the Chamber over the last 5 years. The Board will undertake a global search for the next CEO in 2022.
Closer economic ties would be valuable to both countries.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness President and CEO David Hirschmann issued the following statement in response to today’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) final best interest standard rules. The Chamber and others challenged the Department of Labor’s Fiduciary Duty Rule and in March 2018 the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled to vacate the rule.

New restrictions will disrupt business operations, harming U.S. companies and the Cuban people
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) today announced its selection of Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai and Nasdaq President and Chief Executive Officer Adena Friedman as the recipients of its 2019 Global Leadership Awards. The awards will be conferred at the USIBC India Ideas Summit and Annual Meeting, held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC on June 12-13.
A 5% tariff on imported goods from Mexico, which last year totaled $346.5 billion, would result in a potential tax increase on American businesses and consumers of $17 billion.
The National Labor Relations Board’s Office of General Counsel recently released a guidance memorandum regarding independent contractors.
