What Did People in California Think About Their State’s Lawsuit Climate?

When it comes to competitions, California typically excels. The Warriors have won three NBA titles since 2015. The Dodgers have made back-to-back World Series appearances. The Los Angeles Rams were a Super Bowl team last year.

When it comes to lawsuit systems, though, California is losing. The Golden State has the third worst lawsuit climate in the country.

Check out this video to find out that there aren’t many places where it’s worse to be sued than California. Trial lawyers love to sue in California over things like warning labels on coffee and even the “poop scooper.”

But the bigger picture for California is even worse. The new 2019 Lawsuit Climate Survey: Ranking the States, details California’s 47th-place ranking.

Sadly, California’s bad lawsuit climate is not new. It has consistently ranked among the bottom ten worst states since the first survey in 2002. This year, the state has fallen to its all-time low.

The 2019 Lawsuit Climate Survey: Ranking the States is the 12th time The Harris Poll has conducted the survey since 2002 for the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform. The final results are based on interviews in-house general counsel, senior litigators or attorneys, and other senior executives at public and private companies with annual revenue of at least $100 million.
