Jimmy Housley

Jimmy L. Housley, Major, U.S. Marine Corps, currently serves as a Commandant of the Marine Corps Fellow at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he conducts research, analysis, and project management support for the U.S.-Israel Business Council and the Cyber, Intelligence, and Supply Chain Security division.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Jimmy served as an operations research analyst at Marine Corps Systems Command. In this capacity, he conducted analyses that helped the command identify efficiencies and better align Marine Corps acquisitions to the Commandant’s Planning Guidance and Force Design 2030. Additionally, he helped shape requirements for the Marine Corps’ new Wargaming and Analysis Center that will leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve the way the Marine Corps conducts force design, force development, and force employment.
In the Fleet Marine Forces, Jimmy has served in a variety of operational positions as a financial management officer, leading the budget operations for 1st Marine Division before serving as the Deputy Comptroller.
Following his time at 1st Marine Division, Jimmy served in Afghanistan for a year where he managed the Commander’s Emergency Response Program for Regional Command Southwest and acted as a financial management advisor to the Afghan National Army.
Jimmy earned his M.S. in operations research from Naval Postgraduate School, where he focused on applying machine learning methods to operationally relevant problems. He received a B.S. in economics (honors) from the U.S. Naval Academy.
