Carrie manages 360-communications strategy for Sam’s Club small business initiatives using a multichannel approach to share stories, engage stakeholders and enhance brand reputation. As part of the Walmart Corporate Affairs team, she has the daily privilege of engaging and celebrating small business owners and advocates of all ages, from YEA! and Enactus student entrepreneurs to community and government leaders and thousands of Sam’s Club members and suppliers. She also leads public relations efforts for Sam’s Club’s philanthropic program, the Small Business Economic Mobility initiative, and the new suite of business benefits including legal, payroll and HR and online marketing services. Carrie joined Walmart/Sam’s Club in 2011 after working in Washington, DC for over a decade, managing a hospitality marketing & PR agency after serving as Press Secretary for then-Congressman, now-Senator Richard Burr (NC). Carrie has a Bachelor’s in Politics and Communications from Wake Forest University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. She and her husband Matt live in Bentonville, Arkansas.
