Erik Pederson is the director of government relations for the Chicago Council on Global Affairs office located in Washington, DC. Prior to joining the Council, Mr. Pederson was at the Department of State for six years where he served in multiple capacities, including legislative director, director of senate affairs and legislative management officer for the bureau of oceans, environment and science. Mr. Pederson was the congressional liaison with the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission from 2004 until 2009. He also served on Capitol Hill for five years as a member of former Democratic Leader Tom Daschle's senate floor staff team from 1999 until 2004. Mr. Pederson graduated from the University of Alaska at Anchorage with a BA in History.
