Luncheon Keynote Address

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Central Time)

Businesses in every community rely on strong partnerships with banks and other financial institutions to finance growth, manage risk, and weather down turns. Over the past several years, policymakers and politicians have consistently levied rhetorical attacks on financial services and imposed regulations and other standards that have had the effect of inhibiting economic growth and businesses’ ability to access the products and services they need.  Earlier this year, the U.S. Chamber launched Financing America’s Economic Growth, a campaign to educate Washington on the growing impact of financial regulations on Main Street businesses and the necessity of prioritizing economic growth when developing financial services policy.

Tom Quaadman, Executive Vice President at the U.S. Chamber’s Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness, will discuss ways the current state of the debate on financial services policy in Washington, the policy changes that could have a significant impact on business growth, the prospects for change in a new presidential administration, and how you can make a difference in the ongoing policy discussion.

Breakout Session: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Central Time)

Following the lunch, Tom Quaadman will host a session to explore the impact of regulations on nonfinancial businesses’ ability to access the credit, debt and equity financing, and cash management tools needed to support growth in your community. This session provides an opportunity to learn and drill deeper into a complicated set of issues, while giving you an opportunity to share your first-hand experience with these issues.
