The Rt Hon David Davis MP, UK Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, delivered remarks about his vision for a global Britain outside the EU. Following his remarks, Secretary Davis took several questions from the audience. The conversation provided an update on the UK's departure from the EU, as well as gave insights into the UK government’s views on how to expand the commercial relationship between the U.S. and the UK.
The Rt Hon David Davis MP was appointed as Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union on July 13, 2016. He has been a Member of Parliament since 1987. His previous UK government positions include: Science Minister, Foreign Office Minister for Europe, Shadow Deputy Prime Minister, and Shadow Home Secretary. He was Chairman of the Conservative Party from 2001-2002.
