FOLAC - Remarks by H.E. Alberto Fernandez, President of the Argentine Republic
On October 8, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA) hosted the first of three virtual forums as part of its 2020 Forecast on Latin America and the Caribbean (FOLAC) Conference.
President of the Republic of Argentina Alberto Fernandez spoke of the country’s economic priorities, including overcoming indebtedness and prioritizing access to healthcare and emergency aid for Argentines in need. President Fernandez shared his emphasis on solidarity and social cohesion to promote environmental protection and prosperity for businesses and consumers. He underlined that cooperation between both foreign and domestic partners through investment and trade will be crucial to achieve these goals. Chamber Executive Vice President and Head of International Affairs Myron Brilliant welcomed positive developments in Argentina, including the successful re-negotiation of its debt with private creditors.
