Hiring Our Heroes
Hiring Our Heroes, launched in March 2011, is a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with a network of 1,600 state and local chambers and strategic partners, the initiative has hosted more than 299 hiring fairs in 49 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, resulting in more than 10,400 veterans and spouses landing jobs. Hiring Our Heroes continues to expand its reach with plans to host 400 hiring fairs in its second year.
Center for Women in Business
The Center for Women in Business empowers women business leaders to achieve their personal and professional goals by increasing opportunities for them to serve on corporate boards and in the C-suite, mentoring them at all stages of their careers, and encouraging them to engage in peer-to-peer networking, education, professional growth.
Dream Big Small Business of the Year Award
Held in conjunction with America’s Small Business Summit, this awards program honors successful small business owners and entrepreneurs who have contributed to the vibrancy of American free enterprise. The program recognizes 75 outstanding business owners as Blue Ribbon Small Businesses. Award recipients are announced at the Summit each May, where the winner receives a $10,000 prize.
America’s Small Business Summit
America’s Small Business Summit brings together more than 700 small businesses, chamber executives, and elected officials from across the country to network, learn, and take action to support and strengthen policies that create opportunity and foster economic growth.
On the Road with Free Enterprise
During the summer of 2013, the Campaign for Free Enterprise kicked off a two month cross country tour, On the Road with Free Enterprise. Selected by a nationwide competition, our intrepid tour guides Nate & Joe traveled across the United States visiting small businesses, participating in local events, and stopping at local landmarks to tell the story of free enterprise and what it means to the American economy.
The Enterprising States and Cities Road Show
The annual Enterprising States study highlights specific strategies states are employing to remain competitive and restore jobs. It outlines the top performing states which are best positioned to grow, create jobs, and prosper in the coming years. The study takes and in-depth look at free enterprise policies and innovate programs at the state and local levels that are creating opportunities for American workers an business based on the Enterprising States and Enterprising Cities studies commissioned by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
The study is now available on a new digital dashboard. This interactive tool lets you view historic trends, see the top performers in each policy area, and easily share data through Facebook and Twitter.
Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA)
An after-school program that takes students in grades 6-12 through the process of starting and running real businesses over the course of an academic year. A YEA partner since 2011, the campaign provides grants and resources to local chambers to launch the YEA program in their communities. The YEA program is now in 57 locations in 25 states and continues to grow with the Chamber’s support.
