Gen. John Allen is one of the U.S.’ leading and most seasoned wartime commanders. Allen served the nation as a Marine Corps four-star general and as commander of the International Security Assistance Force and U.S. Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A). In September 2014, President Barack Obama appointed him as special presidential envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL. Currently, he serves as a senior strategic advisor to PricewaterhouseCoopers and as the co-director of the Center for 21st Century Security and Intelligence at the Brookings Institution.
