Red Six Solutions, LLC, a strategic advisory consulting firm whose employees are experts in conducting red team exercises for the government and private sector organizations, conducted a tabletop exercise (TTX) for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Task Force to Eradicate Human Trafficking on October 25, 2018, in Washington, D.C.
A red team is a form of consulting to expose vulnerabilities and threats in an organization. The objective of conducting such exercises is to uncover relationships and interdependencies requiring further discussion.
The scenario was modeled on the simulated experiences of a fictional company called Benevolatine, a large multinational retail company headquartered in the U.S. with supply chain activities throughout the world. Benevolatine’s fictional senior leadership had recently reviewed two incidents where competitors unwittingly became involved in forced labor practices. The company sought guidance to examine its potential exposure to these risks.
Based on the exercise, participants recommended that the U.S. Chamber undertake the following actions:
• Act as a clearinghouse for its members, including developing additional toolkits regarding best practices among similar business sectors such as hospitality and trucking.
• Identify potential conflicts of interest where governmental policies may impede anti-human trafficking efforts.
• Partner with nonprofits and/or third-party organizations to amplify messaging
