Kathy Mumford

Katherine B. Mumford is Director of Programs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, with a specialty in event planning and management. Her position on the Emerging Issues team allows her the opportunity to work with forward-looking teammates and collaborate on the newest and most innovative path forward. 

With a customer service background, Mumford is passionate about delivering valuable and unique programming experiences with each event, meeting, and interaction. This passion for service began in operations at the front desk for Marriott International, blossomed through work in event management, and culminated with the opening of the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC in 2014. 

Her experience then led her to the events and programming team at the Economic Club of Washington, DC. This work welcomed the opportunity to partner with different embassies, local thought leaders, global experts, and pioneering speakers in a premier forum on major issues. 

Joining the U.S. Chamber of Commerce events team, Mumford enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside many departments in the aerospace, small business, policy, international, foundation, women taking the lead initiatives. 

Mumford earned a double B.S. in Management and Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. She lives in Virginia with her husband, two daughters, and pup.
