Senior Vice President, Sam’s Club
A recognized retail leader and innovator, Lance de la Rosa’s career began in 1987 with Walmart Stores, Inc. He learned the ropes of retail and the dynamic consumer facing industry growing from the ground up. Lance progressively grew his skills and leadership roles within the organization with accolades based on his exceptional contributions and diverse portfolio of experiences within the broader corporation.
In 1999, Lance joined the International division of Walmart working for two years in Germany as District Manager Advisor. In 2001, he returned to the corporate office in Bentonville, Arkansas and assumed the position of Divisional Manager for the Optical division. In 2004, Lance was named Regional Manager with elevated accountabilities for the organization. Among his many accolades was the WalMart Leadership award in 2007- a very prestigious honor presented to exemplary leaders within the overall enterprise.
No surprise that Lance would continue to grow his career, and in 2011, Lance assumed his current role as Senior Vice President of Operations for Sam’s Club, responsible for the eastern division, covering 333 Clubs in 23 states and Puerto Rico, overseeing millions of Business and Household Members and tens of billions of dollars in revenue.
Lance earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from East Tennessee State University. Lance is a constant learner and enjoys reading and giving back to the communities that he supports and leads. Lance gives back in many ways whether through mentoring young leaders or through his active engagement in his community.
Lance, his wife Wendy, and son Carson are in process of moving from New Jersey back to Sam’s Club headquarters in Bentonville with the family cat Molly.
