TO THE MEMBERS OF THE U.S. SENATE: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce urges you to support the Motion to Proceed to H.R. 1628, which would allow the Senate to begin consideration of the health care legislation passed by the House earlier this year. The Chamber will consider including votes on the Motion to Proceed in our annual How They Voted scorecard.
The Chamber is encouraged by the self-driving vehicle legislation, and we hope to work with the Committee moving forward to ensure innovation and development are not stifled as a result of inconsistent state liability rules and entrepreneurial plaintiffs lawyers.

At this point Congress must more fully turn its attention to and accelerate its effort to enact tax reform, which will grow the economy and create jobs. We know many in Congress share this priority. It has been 30 years since our tax code was updated and American businesses and workers are suffering as a result. True tax reform is going to require compromise and give and take.
