TO THE MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES SENATE:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports the nomination of Kathy L. Kraninger to be
the Director of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, and we urge Ms. Kraninger’s swift
confirmation.
Ms. Kraninger has extensive leadership and management experience in both the
legislative branch and the executive branch, particularly with the establishment of the
Department of Homeland Security.
In her current role as the Associate Director for General Government at the Office of
Management and Budget, Ms. Kraninger has extensive experience overseeing the budget and
management for a number of executive departments and Federal agencies, including the Bureau
and other financial regulators. This type of budgetary and managerial experience is essential to
preparing the Bureau for long-term success.
Ms. Kraninger’s experience will serve her well as the Director of the Bureau, especially
as it aims to be a more transparent and accountable agency. A Bureau that operates effectively
and efficiently will better fulfill its fundamental mission of protecting consumers.

Sincerely,

Neil L. Bradley
