Small Business

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations. More than 96% of U.S. Chamber members are small businesses with 100 employees or fewer. Small businesses account for three-quarters of all new jobs in this country and embody the spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship and individual initiative.

The following programs and initiatives are just part of what the U.S. Chamber does to be the leading voice for small business in Washington, D.C.

America’s Small Business Summit: June 13-15, 2016

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s annual event—America’s Small Business Summit— empowers you to become a voice for small business.  By uniting with small business owners, managers, and entrepreneurs from across the country you will have the opportunity to learn, network, and discuss common legislative, management, and marketing concerns. The event allows you to access the experience and perspective of hundreds of small business owners facing the same challenges you face and get the tools, strategies, and best practices to compete successfully in today’s rapidly changing business environment. You will boost your impact with ideas from successful entrepreneurs, corporate sponsors, thought leaders, and chamber executives.

The Council on Small Business

The Council on Small Business is the primary vehicle by which small businesses take part in determining the Chamber’s small business strategy. The Council is the U.S. Chamber’s principal standing policy committee and action group representing the issues of concern to small business. In addition to formulating small business policy, the council assists small business members in creating effective grass roots actions and strategies on legislative, regulatory, and international initiatives. The group is able to bring to the Board’s attention small business issues they regard as important or comment on the small business impact of policy being formulated by other standing Chamber policy committees.
