WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes will honor Howard Schultz and Sheri Kersch Schultz with the President’s Award for Lifetime Achievement at this year’s Lee Anderson Hiring Our Heroes Awards Gala, presented by USAA, and held virtually on November 18 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

“Their guiding belief in unlocking human potential by opening doors to opportunity embodies the spirit of the President’s Award,” said Eric Eversole, president of Hiring Our Heroes and vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “It is a great honor to recognize the Schultz family for their commitment to bridging the civilian-military gap and efforts to create meaningful employment opportunities for transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses.”

In 1996, Sheri Kersch Schultz and Howard Schultz, chairman emeritus of Starbucks Coffee Company, co-founded the Schultz Family Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to create pathways of opportunity for populations facing barriers to success. Under their leadership, the foundation concentrated on employment opportunities for post-9/11 veterans. This initiative helps service members and their families successfully transition into professional careers by bringing together leaders from the private and public sectors.

Hiring Our Heroes also announced that JDog Brands will receive the Capital One Small Business Award and the finalists in the other six award categories are:
