Washington, D.C. — Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber’s Technology Engagement Center Tom Quaadman issued the following statement this evening in response to the White House’s release of regulatory guidance on the use of artificial intelligence:

“The U.S. Chamber applauds the release of the White House's ‘Guidance for Regulation of Artificial Intelligence Applications.’ The guidance outlines a commonsense and comprehensive approach to address the regulation of AI applications, which has broad bipartisan support. Moreover, the guidance will serve as an essential building block for U.S. global leadership on AI governance. We look forward to working with federal agencies to ensure its effective implementation.”

In March, the U.S. Chamber submitted comments to the Office of Management and Budget on the draft “Guidance for Regulation of Artificial Intelligence Applications.” The Chamber appreciates the administration’s commitment to U.S. leadership in AI and continued pro-innovation approach.
