U.S. Chamber Names AGM Container Controls, Inc. America's Small Business of the Year
Tucson-based Manufacturer Presented Award at America's Small Business Summit 2009
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today presented AGM Container Controls, Inc. with the Small Business of the Year 2009 Award. The award honors the Tucson-based manufacturer for being a leader in the community, demonstrating intelligent business judgment, and showing a true commitment to its employees and customers.

From the U.S. Chamber's 56 Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winners, seven regional finalists were selected from across the country. AGM Controls received the final award today during a luncheon at America's Small Business Summit 2009. The annual event brings hundreds of small businesses to Washington, D.C. to meet with business leaders, members of Congress, and administration officials and to discuss issues that are important to growing their businesses and the economy.
America's Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Sam's Club®, pays tribute to companies showcasing exemplary staff training and motivation, community involvement, customer service, and business and financial planning.
AGM Controls began in 1964 when Roger Stewart started Arizona Gear Manufacturing to market a new product called breather valves, which prevents excessive pressure of vacuum buildup in sealed containers. A few acquisitions and name changes later, AGM Container Controls has a varied product line ranging from national defense equipment to wheelchair lifts for public facilities.
