MIAMI, Fla.—Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation launched Sharing Solutions—a one-stop resource to help the business community combat the opioid crisis.

“We have heard from many small and midsize business owners struggling to find a way to address prescription drug misuse among their employees and families,” said Carolyn Cawley, president of the Chamber Foundation. “Employer specific resources are thin, and they’re scattered. Our campaign collects and curates credible resources to help employers get what they need more quickly.”

The Chamber Foundation campaign includes: the launch of the resource hub for businesses, a nationally recognized substance abuse expert advising the campaign, and a tour of ten hard-hit communities with workshops and broader community education.

“There is tremendous opportunity for innovation among employers to address this public health crisis,” said Gina Clark, President of the AmerisourceBergen Foundation, one of the sponsors of this campaign. “We are proud to be a core partner of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation as they seek out best-in-class practices for businesses surrounding the issue of employee opioid misuse and work to proliferate resources to support workforces across the nation.”

In addition to employer resources, Sharing Solutions shares best practices of companies taking action to address the crisis through changes in business processes, employee engagement, applying core competencies, and community engagement. The interactive site includes engagement functionality so that users can truly share their solutions and build on available resources as a community.

“The Sharing Solutions platform allows for close partnership and collaboration for businesses across the country,” said Gene Barr, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. “The ability to leverage insights and best practices is critical as the business community comes together to put forward solutions to this crisis.”
