President and Chief Operating Officer of Monsanto Brett D. Begemann Appointed Vice Chairman
WASHINGTON, D.C. –The U.S. Chamber of Commerce-affiliated Brazil-U.S. Business Council today announced the appointment of Brett D. Begemann, president and chief operating officer of Monsanto, as the council's new vice-chair.
“The U.S.-Brazil commercial relationship has been growing stronger and is further strengthened by Mr. Begemann’s leadership as vice-chair of the council,” said Cassia Carvalho, executive director of the Brazil-U.S. Business Council. “We have an ambitious policy agenda to execute in the coming weeks and months, and Mr. Begemann’s experience in Brazil as a long-time Monsanto executive enhances our ability to achieve our goals there.”
Begemann has commercial responsibility for Monsanto’s global business and supply chain. He formerly served as Monsanto’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer and joined the company in 1983 as a sales representative in Minnesota. Monsanto is a leading provider of agricultural products for farmers. Begemann currently serves on the Brazil Council board of directors.
