Seong Ohm is the Senior Vice President for Merchandise Business Services at Sam’s Club. With millions of entrepreneurs, small businesses and families shopping at Sam’s Club every day, Seong brings innovative services to members that save them money, time and energy.
Born in South Korea, Seong grew up in New York helping her parents and siblings run a convenience store. Seong knows entrepreneurial challenges and successes first hand.
The family business allowed Seong to dream big and succeed – she attended University of Rochester, where she received Bachelors in Neuroscience and MBA in Marketing & Finance.
Today, she brings 25 years of experience as a supplier and merchant for Walmart U.S., Walmart Japan and Sam’s Club. In that time, Seong has been named in the Top 15 Innovative Women in Business by Pink Magazine and Top 100 MBAs by Diversity MBA Magazine. She has been very active in training, preparing and securing more women, minority and veteran-owned small businesses as suppliers and vendors for Sam’s Club and Walmart.
In the past 9 months, she has launched the most robust portfolio of business services in the retail industry, responding to feedback from thousands of Sam’s Clubs small business members. Most recently, Seong introduced members to the Sam’s Club Business Lending platform, which simplifies the small business loan process to help millions of entrepreneurs and organizations gain affordable access to capital.
