On Tuesday, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted its Spirit of Enterprise Awards Ceremony to honor members of Congress with the strongest records of support for the business community. This group of 321 representatives and senators was determined by the Chamber's annual How They Voted scorecard.

For the first time, the U.S. Chamber published its scorecard online. The scorecard can be organized by member name, chamber of Congress, state and party affiliation. By clicking on individual members, you can view what votes were cast and counted.

The scorecards for this session were determined by eight Senate and 14 House votes. These Chamber-designated "key votes" are recorded floor votes on issues that the Chamber's board of directors prioritizes, which the Chamber communicates its positions prior to voting. Members of Congress who supported the Chamber's stances on 70% or more of these votes were eligible to receive the Spirit of Enterprise Award.

Key votes for the second session of the 114th Congress covered a range of topics. Among them were access to capital for small business, defending intellectual property rights, and paving the way for manufacturers to compete in a global economy.

The 266 U.S. representatives and 55 U.S. senators who were awarded the Spirit of Enterprise Award have pursued the interests of the business community. U.S. Chamber CEO and President Tom Donohue said of the awardees, "The Spirit of Enterprise Award recognizes those members of Congress who have done what’s right for our friends, family, and neighbors running businesses across the country. We applaud these legislators for their commitment to free enterprise and economic growth."

The Chamber is proud to honor its 321 Spirit of Enterprise Award winners and looks forward to their assistance for sessions to come.
