To the Members of the United States Senate:
As the Senate considers the nomination of Jared Isaacman to serve as Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (“NASA”), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (“Chamber”) respectfully offers the following observations and urges timely consideration by the full Senate.
NASA’s mission is vast and urgent: advancing discovery, sustaining America’s leadership in space, enabling commercial innovation, strengthening national security, and inspiring our nation’s young people. In a period of intensifying global competition, especially with China’s accelerating state-backed space ambitions, stable, confirmed leadership at NASA is essential to deliver results, safeguard U.S. leadership, and uphold the bipartisan priorities set by Congress.
Mr. Isaacman brings a uniquely relevant blend of experience to this role: He has built and scaled a public company in a highly regulated sector, managed complex programs with safety at the core, and helped pioneer public–private partnership models that expand capability while driving down cost.
The Chamber has long advocated policies that enable sustained growth through innovation, competitiveness, and public–private partnership. NASA is a force multiplier for that agenda, driving breakthroughs that ripple across the economy, strengthening supply chains, and creating high-quality jobs nationwide. With Mr. Isaacman’s leadership, we are confident NASA can accelerate critical missions: returning Americans to the Moon, advancing commercial space stations, expanding Earth science and space weather capabilities, and maturing technologies that reduce cost and increase resilience, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, stewardship, and accountability.
We urge the Senate to move swiftly on Mr. Isaacman’s nomination. The Chamber looks forward to working with the Administrator and Congress to advance America’s leadership in space and to deliver the economic and scientific benefits that follow.
Sincerely,
Neil L. Bradley
Executive Vice President, Chief Policy Officer,
and Head of Strategic Advocacy
