CHARLESTON, WV – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Charleston Area Alliance & Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Carol Miller (R-WV-01) for a roundtable discussion in Charleston, West Virginia with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud Congresswoman Miller for working to ensure that the constituents of the 1st District of West Virginia continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across her district and beyond.

“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce thanks Congresswoman Carol Miller for her leadership and support of the One Big Beautiful Bill,” said Stephen McAllister, Vice President of the Eastern Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Rep. Miller voted to make permanent the 20 percent pass-through deduction that many small businesses rely on. By working to ensure the largest tax increase in history did not take effect, she has helped to provide businesses with the certainty they need to reinvest, hire more workers, and expand their operations. Her advocacy delivers real results for America’s job creators.”

“It was a pleasure to share what we accomplished with the One, Big, Beautiful Bill, and how it delivers real tax relief for working West Virginians by making the Trump tax cuts permanent and protecting families and small businesses,” said Congresswoman Miller. “I’m committed to continuing this work and delivering results that strengthen our economy and put West Virginia families first. I am grateful to everyone who joined us for this roundtable, including our partners from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Charleston Area Alliance, and our host, Mike McCown and the team at Industrial Bolting.”

“We are grateful to Congresswoman Miller for being such a strong and consistent champion for our business community and for helping ensure that the voices of West Virginians are heard in Washington,” said Mara Boggs, President and CEO of the Charleston Area Alliance & Chamber of Commerce. “As a business owner herself, Congresswoman Miller knows what it takes to run a business and that is one of the many reasons she is such a strong advocate for the business community. We also appreciate the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for their partnership in bringing this important conversation to our region. A special thank you to Mike McCown and his team at Industrial Bolting for hosting today’s forum and showcasing the strength of American manufacturing. Opportunities like this allow our business leaders to engage directly in meaningful dialogue and reinforce our shared commitment to economic growth across the Kanawha Valley and beyond.”

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 80 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
