LYNCHBURG, VA – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance hosted U.S. Representative John McGuire (R-VA-05) for a roundtable discussion in Lynchburg, Virginia with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud Congressman McGuire for working to ensure that the constituents of the 5th District of Virginia continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.

“At the U.S. Chamber, we are grateful to Congressman McGuire for his insights into the positive benefits of the pro-growth tax measures enacted in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” said Brince Manning, Senior Manager of Regional Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Today’s discussion highlighted America’s need for a tax system where employers can plan and invest confidently in order for their workforce and business to thrive.”

“The Working Families Tax Cut benefits businesses and families by making many of the key tax provisions in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) permanent as well as preventing the largest tax increase in history to the middle class,” said Congressman McGuire. “The Working Families Tax Cut is pro-growth, pro-business legislation that adds jet fuel to our economy. I am committed to ensuring businesses and individuals in Virginia have what they need to thrive. I appreciate the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance for hosting this opportunity to hear from business owners so we can ensure their success now and for years to come.”

“The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance is proud to partner with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to host this important roundtable with Congressman John McGuire,” said Megan Lucas, CEO and Chief Economic Development Officer of the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance. “Opportunities like this give our region's business leaders a direct voice to communicate how pro-growth tax provisions impact their ability to invest, expand, and create jobs. We are grateful for the opportunity to bring together our local businesses with federal leaders to ensure that policies like those in H.R.1 continue to provide the certainty and support our businesses need to succeed.”

“Southern Air was honored to host Congressman John McGuire along with representatives from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance for a Tax Roundtable discussion with local business leaders,” said Paul Denham, President of Southern Air. “This event allowed local businesses to have a voice in shaping tax policy which impacts employment and economic growth in our region and across the country. We appreciate the opportunity to hear from policymakers and to share our perspectives on issues impacting our business.”

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 80 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
