SAN JOSE, CA – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the San Jose Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Sam Liccardo (CA-16) for a roundtable discussion with local small business owners on the role of artificial intelligence in driving small business growth and the importance of regulatory certainty for continued AI adoption.

"Small businesses are using AI to grow and thrive. It's enabling companies with limited start-up funding to hang up a digital shingle. There is a reason that six in ten California small businesses are using AI and over 80 percent of those businesses grew their workforce last year. To make small business AI adoption and growth possible in the future, we need regulatory certainty. We look forward to working with Representative Liccardo and partners like the San Jose Chamber to make this a reality." said Jordan Crenshaw, senior vice president of the U.S. Chamber’s Technology Engagement Center.

“AI can multiply the power of small businesses, and if we’re doing this right, we can leverage AI to expand entrepreneurship opportunities for millions of Americans. After all, small businesses with big ideas built in Silicon Valley,” said Rep. Liccardo. “I’m listening closely to small businesses with the help of the U.S. Chamber and the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, to make AI work for every business.”

“San Jose is home to small businesses that aren’t just talking about AI—they’re already putting it to work to grow, compete and serve their customers better,” said Leah Toeniskoetter, President and CEO of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce. “That’s why it’s so important that the voices of small businesses help shape the policies being developed in Washington. We appreciate Congressman Liccardo and the U.S. Chamber for coming directly to our business community to hear what’s working, where challenges remain, and how federal policy can support innovation and growth without creating unnecessary barriers.”
