Bean & Bean Coffee is a mother daughter, Q Grader led coffee company founded by Rachel and Jiyoon Han, who have grown their brand from a single New York City shop in 2008 to four locations and a Queens roastery built on craftsmanship, sustainability, and gender equity. As certified Q Arabica Graders — the sommeliers of coffee — they source every bean with intention, beginning with organic and fair trade coffees and expanding their mission to address the gender gap across the global coffee value chain. Although women make up half of the coffee labor force, they own less than 5% of farms and face limited access to training and resources; Bean & Bean has worked to change that since day one. Today, more than half of their coffees come from women owned and women led farms, reflecting their commitment to ensuring female producers receive fair compensation, visibility, and opportunity.
