Jennifer Miel is executive director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Middle East and Turkey Affairs Department. Miel draws upon more than 10 years of service to the U.S. business community to advance commercial cooperation between the public and private sectors in the U.S. and this critical region.

As executive director of corporate bilateral business councils between the U.S. and Turkey, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan, Miel leads more than 150 companies to identify and deepen strategic partnership models and growth sectors. She works closely with senior business leaders of U.S. companies to advance their investments in the region. In addition, she directs the respective councils’ policy and programmatic agenda, including meetings with heads of state, senior government officials, business delegations, and the preparation and launch of policy reports.

In 2014, Miel was instrumental to the Chamber opening its regional office in Istanbul, which she directs from Washington. This office has established a permanent advocacy presence in the region for U.S. companies to grow and create enhanced economic opportunities in Turkey, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Miel earned a B.S. in urban and regional planning and a B.A. in Spanish literature from Cornell University. She completed graduate coursework in public policy at Georgetown University and is a contributing author of two books on Turkey and transatlantic relations and one book on Kazakhstan.
