Simon Baloyi is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sasol Limited and an Executive Director on the Sasol Limited Board. He assumed the role on 1 April 2024 and is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.  

A seasoned business leader with more than 20 years of experience at Sasol, Simon joined the Group in 2002 as a Sasol bursar and has since held a wide range of senior operational and executive leadership roles across the company’s South African operations. He was appointed to Sasol’s Group Executive Committee in April 2022 as Executive Vice President: Energy Operations and Technology, where he was responsible for all downstream operations in South Africa, as well as Research and Technology, Projects and Engineering, and Procurement.  

As CEO, Simon is leading Sasol’s strategic transformation with a strong focus on safety, people, operational excellence, customer‑centricity, and sustainable performance. He is committed to positioning Sasol for long‑term value creation while supporting South Africa’s energy security and industrial development. 

Beyond Sasol, Simon serves as Chairman of the Energy Council of South Africa and is a Board member of the Hydrogen Council, a global CEO‑led initiative advancing the hydrogen economy. He was also a Co‑Chair of the 2025 B20 Energy Mix and Just Transition Task Force.
