Jonathan Evans is President and CEO of Lithium Americas, which is building Thacker Pass in Humboldt County, Nevada, home to the world's largest known measured and indicated lithium resource. He became CEO of the predecessor company in 2019 and has led the current company since its October 2023 separation. Under his leadership, Lithium Americas formed a Thacker Pass joint venture with General Motors, which holds a 38% stake and offtake rights, and secured a $2.23 billion Department of Energy loan for its processing facilities. He previously ran FMC Corp.'s lithium division and was COO of DiversiTech, following executive roles at General Electric and service as a U.S. Army armor officer. He holds degrees from Clarkson University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
