WASHINGTON, D.C. — Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement regarding President Trump's executive order on housing affordability and permitting reform:
"The U.S. Chamber commends President Trump for his focus on cutting red tape, streamlining federal permitting, and encouraging state and local governments to remove barriers to residential development. With America facing a shortage of over 4.7 million homes, burdensome regulations continue to drive up costs and delay construction. Reducing regulatory barriers is essential to expanding housing supply, strengthening communities, and sustaining economic growth. The U.S. Chamber looks forward to working with the administration to ensure implementation of these important reforms."
