The U.S. Chamber of Commerce joins the more than 400 stakeholder groups across the entire agricultural supply chain supporting the Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act (SAWA):

"The U.S. Chamber of Commerce thanks the sponsors of the Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act (SAWA) for their leadership in advancing a thoughtful, bipartisan approach to modernizing the H-2A visa program. Building on the strong border security achieved during this Administration, the SAWA recognizes that a stable and reliable agricultural workforce is essential to maintaining our nation's food supply and supporting broader economic and national security. By helping producers meet critical labor needs, SAWA represents an important step toward strengthening America's resilience and long-term growth."

###

Why?

  • The Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act (SAWA) represents a bipartisan effort to modernize the H-2A program and address longstanding workforce challenges facing American agriculture.
  • America's food supply chain depends on producers, processors, distributors, and retailers working together to meet demand. When employers struggle to access the workforce they need, the effects ripple throughout supply chains, rural communities, and the broader economy.
  • Many producers rely on the H-2A program to meet workforce needs. But stakeholders across agriculture have long called for reforms that increase certainty, improve efficiency, and better align the system with real-world labor demands. SAWA seeks to advance those goals through a bipartisan approach to workforce modernization.
