Mike Morello
  • Chief Digital Officer, U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Mike Morello, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s first chief digital officer, oversees all aspects of digital product management, strategy, and user engagement across the Chamber’s various web properties.

Previously, Morello served as chief product officer at the Chamber of an internal incubator team that in 2019 successfully launched CO—, a platform that helps small and midsize businesses grow and thrive. In 2020, the platform continued its growth momentum and became a critical resource during the COVID-19 pandemic. CO— has attracted millions of visitors and has been recognized with awards from Digiday, Fast Company, Folio Magazine (Eddie/Ozzie), Editor & Publisher (EPPY), and MediaPost (OMMA), among others.

Before joining the Chamber, Morello was COO at Inc., where he oversaw all aspects of the publication’s digital operations. He also held senior-level product roles at Purch, a digital media company; WebMD, where he developed tools for doctors and patients to communicate with each other; CBSNews.com, where he launched CBSMoneyWatch.com from the ground up; and The Motley Fool. He also spent 10 years with AOL, helping build the first AOL finance section.

Morello’s philosophy is that a great product begins and ends with superior user experience. He believes that decisions should be informed by data based on user patterns and behavior. This, along with building incredibly collaborative teams from various specialties, delivers the most engaging and successful products.
