WASHINGTON, D.C. — Thomas J. Donohue, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, today issued the following statement after President Biden announced his plans for immigration reforms.

"The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is very encouraged to see President Biden prioritizing immigration reform in the early days of his administration. We welcome the new tone set by his leadership, which will be critical for obtaining lasting improvements to our nation's immigration system.

"The changes proposed in President Biden's legislative plan would help many businesses meet their critical workforce needs. Having the world's most talented and industrious people contribute to our economy drives growth, and in turn, creates jobs for hardworking Americans. The Chamber looks forward to working with the Biden administration and Congress to get an immigration reform bill signed into law."
