The U.S. Chamber submitted comments to the Federal Trade Commission regarding the agency’s Draft Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2026-2030. In these comments, the Chamber offered key comments that (1) applaud the Draft Plan for refocusing the FTC on its core mission areas and correcting missteps of the prior administration; (2) recommend that the FTC should define several ambiguous terms consistent with the consumer welfare standard; and (3) push for the FTC to revise its international objectives to persuade policymakers around the world to adhere to the consumer welfare standard and avoid targeting American companies. The comment demonstrated how the agency can further help reduce costs to the business community and, ultimately, to consumers.
