WASHINGTON, D.C. - The United States and Japan have entered a period of strong commercial momentum and strategic alignment driven by deep integration in corporate strategy, mutual investment, and shared innovation. Thus, the U.S. -Japan Business Council and the Japan -U.S. Business Council held their 63rd U.S. -Japan Business Conference under the theme of “Allied for Growth: Driving the Next Era of the U.S.-Japan Economic Partnership” to capitalize on the full potential of this moment.
At the Conference's final session, 130 U.S. and Japanese companies ratified a Joint Statement which called on both governments to build on the strong commercial momentum between our two countries by:
▪️ Accelerating mutual investment
▪️ Expanding cooperation on AI and advanced technologies
▪️ Strengthening resilient and trusted global supply chains
▪️ Advancing regulatory harmonization and permitting reforms that support sustainable economic growth
This Joint Statement, which was ratified by 130 U.S. and Japanese companies at the 63rd U.S.-Japan Business Conference in Washington, DC on October 7, 2026, also includes five sectoral annexes:
