58th Annual U.S.-Japan Business Conference

Virtual Meeting | October 5-6, 2021

The U.S.-Japan Business Council (USJBC) and Japan-U.S. Business Council (JUBC) held the 58th U.S.-Japan Business Conference on Tuesday, October 5 and Wednesday, October 6 Eastern Time, with the theme, “Building a Sustainable Future: A Blueprint for the U.S.-Japan Leadership.” Nearly 300 business executives gathered virtually for the second time in the Councils’ shared history. Featured government speakers included Gina Raimondo, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, David Turk, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy, Haruhiko Kuroda, Governor of the Bank of Japan, and Yoko Ishikura, the new Chief Digital Officer of Japan’s newly created Digital Agency.

At the conclusion of the conference, the Councils ratified the Joint Statement, with sector-specific supplements, which can be found below:
