WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced Justin Waller has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and that Stefan Freiberg joined its executive team as Chief Financial Officer, reporting to Waller.
The expertise of Waller and Freiberg will play a key role in marshalling the Chamber’s resources to deliver results for America’s job creators.
“This is a continuation in our work to build up the business side of the Chamber and operate like our members – as lean, agile and digital-first professional service providers. Because of the talent we have and continue to attract, the Chamber is well positioned to advance our successful advocacy for American business and rebuild our economy, communities, and Main Streets,” said Suzanne Clark, President and CEO, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Since joining the Chamber, Waller has driven the Chamber’s digital transformation, built a new brand for small and growing businesses, and grew new revenue for the Chamber. He led the extensive restoration of the exterior of the Chamber's historic building, and this past year he managed the Chamber's finances to emerge from the pandemic in an even stronger position.
“Justin knows the importance of investing in the Chamber’s talent and resources, and he has continued to build out a capable, experienced team to advance investment and innovation within the business of the Chamber,” continued Clark.
Freiberg joins the Chamber from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) where he led the transformation across all operations of the $80 million trade association. During his tenure, he managed strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, improve member experience, and diversify revenue.
Prior to ICSC, Freiberg worked for 15 years at the professional services firm Deloitte, where he was responsible for driving enterprise-wide strategic initiatives on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
