WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President for Immigration Policy, Patrick Shen, released the following statement today regarding the Department of Labor's proposal to rescind burdensome and unlawful provisions of the 2024 H-2A rule:

"The U.S. Chamber applauds the Department's proposal to rescind unlawful and burdensome provisions of the 2024 H-2A Final Rule, and with it, once again demonstrate this administration's commitment to sound policymaking and respect for the rule of law. Last year, the Chamber filed a legal challenge, arguing that the Biden-era rule exceeded the Department's statutory authority and imposed restrictions that undermined employers' ability to communicate and operate freely. We commend the Department's willingness to reconsider this rule and support policies that enable employers to meet their workforce needs, grow the economy, and deliver for workers and employers in communities across America."
