Peter Lauria joins as Vice President and Editor in Chief of USChamber.com; Kevin Gaherty joins as Executive Director of Data and Email Products.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – While advancing its mission of advocating for policies that support American businesses of all sizes, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced today two new hires whose expertise and skills will help further the business community’s top priorities in the U.S. and around the world.

Peter Lauria and Kevin Gaherty will bring their experiences in multi-platform content creation to these new roles with the goal of increasing engagement with current Chamber members and attracting new ones by providing them with timely and relevant content that helps, supports, and grows their businesses.

“Business has an incredible story to tell, and it is crucial that we provide a clear voice in the public debate through compelling storytelling and digital savvy that will reach diverse audiences across platforms,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Mike Morello. “We are excited to welcome world-class digital leaders Peter and Kevin to our team, who will do just that. We look forward to their work to further elevate and amplify the voices of America’s business owners, job creators, and community builders.”

Peter Lauria joins as Vice President and Editor in Chief of USChamber.com: With more than 20 years of editorial experience, Peter is a veteran at creating business content that attracts mass audiences and raises the profiles of the organizations for which he has worked. He has led teams that expanded and grew the digital presence of major national and global media outlets, as well as Fortune 500 companies. Peter’s combination of expertise in mass market content creation and executive thought leadership will help inform and drive the Chamber’s overall digital content strategy. He earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Sociology from Rutgers University.

Kevin Gaherty joins as Executive Director of Data and Email Products: Having worked with some of the world’s most popular brands, Kevin will use his expertise in Email and CRM communications to deliver innovative email products that add value to the Chamber’s member experience. Kevin has worked at top agencies Harte Hanks and True Action, as well as cutting edge martech vendors Movable Ink and Cheetah Digital where he leveraged data to deliver personalized communications at scale. He earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Political Science from Cabrini University.
