TO THE MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES SENATE:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports the compromise agreement forged by the leadership of the House and Senate Armed Services Committee on the “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022.” This legislation, already passed with a significant bipartisan majority in the House, would strengthen and advance the National Defense Strategy and ensure that unfunded procurement, research, and readiness priorities of the services are met. The Chamber will consider including votes related to this legislation in our “How They Voted” scorecard.

We strongly support a robust defense industrial base and flexibility for federal contractors to provide the goods and services that the Department of Defense needs. Chamber members represent nearly all sectors of the federal contracting supply chain, from the smallest components to the largest weapon systems for the Department of Defense. This legislation puts America’s servicemembers first, and charts a bold path for future National Defense Authorizations.
