WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Marty Durbin, president of the Global Energy Institute at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement after the House Committee on Natural Resources voted to advance the bipartisan SPEED Act:

“Advancing the SPEED Act and other critical permitting reform measures represents a pivotal step toward streamlining permitting processes and enhancing predictability—accelerating critical infrastructure projects that bring investment and tangible improvements to communities across the nation. This legislation will provide much-needed updates to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), often misused to delay critical projects, ensuring a more efficient and effective process. We urge Congress to build on this momentum and swiftly enact comprehensive permitting reform.”
