TOLEDO, OHIO – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Candidate Derek Merrin for Ohio's Ninth Congressional District at an event in Toledo. The U.S. Chamber endorses candidates for federal office who will support policies that drive innovation, grow the economy, and create opportunities for American businesses and workers.
The event brought together Wayne Kinse, owner of Voodoo Brewing Company, James Haupricht of Chevy’s Place, Rick Carfagna of the Ohio Chamber, Candidate Derek Merrin, Kathy Zhu, Manager of the Great Lakes Region at the U.S. Chamber, and additional local business leaders.
“Derek Merrin understands that a strong economy starts with policies that empower businesses to invest, innovate, and create jobs. The U.S. Chamber is proud to endorse his campaign for Ohio’s Ninth Congressional District because he will be a champion for free enterprise and an advocate for the businesses and workers who drive economic growth in Ohio and across the country,” said Kathy Zhu, Manager of the Great Lakes Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The national Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour is a six-week trip through 20 states and more than 50 events to make the case for free enterprise in communities across America and push back against growing support for government-directed economic policies that threaten economic freedom, opportunity, innovation, and growth.
The Opportunity Tour is a part of the U.S. Chamber’s New Fight for Free Enterprise initiative, a multi-year strategic effort to defend, protect, and promote free enterprise.
