BLUFFTON, SC – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of candidate Jenny Honeycutt for South Carolina's First Congressional District at a free enterprise endorsement event at Bluffton Oyster Company in Bluffton, South Carolina. The event was a stop on the Chamber’s Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour, a national six-week bus tour promoting free enterprise.
Honeycutt was joined by Ashlee Rich Stephenson, Senior Political Strategist and Consultant at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Bluffton Mayor Larry Toomer to discuss how small businesses are the backbone of local communities and the importance of a pro-growth business climate.
The U.S. Chamber endorses candidates for federal office who will support policies that drive innovation, grow the economy, and create opportunities for American businesses and workers.
“Jenny Honeycutt has earned the U.S. Chamber's endorsement because she understands what it takes to run a business and create opportunity in her community,” said Rich Stephenson. “As a small business owner, she has seen firsthand how public policy affects employers, workers, and families in South Carolina. That experience will make her a strong advocate for free enterprise and economic growth in Congress, and we look forward to working with her to advance pro-growth policies.”
The national Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour is a six-week trip through 20 states and more than 50 events to make the case for free enterprise in communities across America and push back against growing support for government-directed economic policies that threaten economic freedom, opportunity, innovation, and growth.
The effort is part of a broader Chamber initiative, the New Fight for Free Enterprise, a multi-year effort to organize, mobilize, and make the case for free enterprise everywhere public opinion is shaped, public policy is made, and future generations learn what it takes for people and communities to thrive.
