WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today at an event with Traverse Connect in Traverse City, MI, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Rep. Jack Bergman for Michigan's First District. The U.S. Chamber endorses candidates for federal office who will support policies that drive innovation, grow the economy, and create opportunities for American businesses and workers.
“Congressman Jack Bergman has consistently demonstrated a commitment to policies that support economic growth, strengthening American competitiveness, and create opportunities for businesses and workers across Northern Michigan,” said Kevin Courtois, Vice President of the U.S. Chamber’s Great Lakes Region. “His leadership on issues important to job-creators, such as investing in infrastructure, delivering certainty on pro-growth tax policy, and reducing regulatory burdens, has earned him the support of the business community. We are proud to endorse Congressman Bergman for re-election and look forward to continuing to work with him in the next Congress.”
“I’m proud to have the exclusive endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,” said Congressman Jack Bergman. “Michigan’s job creators know I’ll keep fighting for policies that strengthen our economy, cut burdensome regulations, support small businesses, and keep Michigan and America open for business. Together, we’ll continue fighting for good-paying jobs, growing our economy, and making Michigan the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”
“We’re thrilled to see our partners at the U.S. Chamber take such a strong interest in rural places like northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. The 1st Congressional District is critically important to Michigan, the Midwest, and the nation, and their presence here today supporting our sitting Congressman, who has been a steadfast champion of small business and our economic growth, is very welcome,” said Warren Call, CEO of Traverse Connect.
